Gregory BAST Was Arrested

(BROCKTON, ON) – On May 16, 2025, at approximately 9:13 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a vehicle parked along Bruce Road 19, Municipality of Brockton.

Officers attended and spoke with the lone occupant. The investigating officer detected signs of impairment. The individual was arrested and transported for further testing.

Gregory BAST, 65-years-old, resident of Minto, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – B.A.C. 80 plus, CC 320.14(1)(b)

The accused is set to appear on June 25, 2025, at the Walkerton Court of Justice to answer to the charge.

One Dead – Joseph WEBER Arrested

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – Charges have been laid following the investigation into a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on Tuesday, March 18, 2025

On May 13, 2025 the Perth County OPP charged 19-year-old, North Perth resident, Joseph WEBER with the following offence under the Highway Traffic Act:

  • Careless Driving Causing Death

WEBER is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on June 24, 2025.

OPP Openly Mock Train Collision

(HURON COUNTY, ON) – The Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)has partnered with Genesee and Wyoming Railroad (GEXR) and Huron County Emergency Services to conduct a mock collision in the Municipality of Huron East this week.

On Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 08:00 a.m. until approximately 2:00 p.m., Kinburn Line from Huron Road (Hwy 8) to Front Road in Huron East will be closed for the training exercise. There will be an increased presence of various emergency response vehicles in the area and motorists are asked to avoid the area to allow for a safe training environment.

Railway crossing and trespassing incidents in Canada and the U.S. seriously injure or kill more than 2,100 people each year.

“Ignoring railway signs and signals, being distracted at rail stations or crossings, or using tracks as a shortcut or a recreational path can lead to track tragedies that are entirely preventable,” said Provincial Constable Craig Soldan of the Huron County OPP.

The OPP is encouraging people to avoid risky behaviours around tracks and trains, so they stay safe and stay alive.”

Property Dispute Ends With Violence #StandYourGround #Uprising

(HURON-KINLOSS, ON) – On May 10, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a disturbance along Havelock Street, Township of Huron-Kinloss.

Investigation revealed that an individual brandished an edged weapon after a dispute over property. The individual was placed under arrest and held in custody for a bail hearing, where they were subsequently released.

On May 11, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received a report of an assault at a residence along Havelock Street, Township of Huron-Kinloss.

Investigation revealed that the same individual had allegedly committed an assault on another person. They were again placed under arrest and held in custody for a bail hearing.

Allan SIMICK, 59-years-old, of the Township of Huron-Kinloss, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, CC 88
  • Assault cause bodily harm, CC 267(c)

36 Year Old Repeat Offender Arrested Again

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a South Huron resident with several criminal driving offences following a traffic stop in the Municipality of South Huron, Crediton, on April 26th, 2025. 

Just after 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025, Huron County OPP officers conducted a traffic stop on King Street South in South Huron. Police spoke to the driver and discovered that they were prohibited from driving a motor vehicle.

The driver was also arrested for impaired operation and transported to the South Bruce OPP detachment in Kincardine where they completed a series of tests with an OPP Drug Recognition Expert (DRE). As a result of the investigation, the accused has been charged as follows:

Mitchell HARRIS, 36 years-of-age from South Huron has been charged with:

–      Impaired Operation – alcohol and drug,

–      Operation while Prohibited – (three counts),

–      Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon,

–      Possession of Methamphetamine,

–      Fail to Comply with Release Order – (two counts),

–      Fail to Comply with Probation Order – (two counts).

The accused was additionally charged with Driving While Under Suspension – Highway Traffic Act.

The vehicle involved was towed and impounded for 45 days.

The accused was processed, held for a bail hearing, and later remanded into custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

29 Year Old Arrested In Exeter

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Parkhill resident with criminal driving offences following a traffic violation in the Municipality of South Huron, Exeter, on April 25th, 2025. 

Just after 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 25, 2025, Huron County OPP officers stopped a motorist for a traffic violation on Thames Road East in South Huron. Police spoke to the driver and discovered that they had consumed alcohol prior to driving.

The driver was subsequently arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton where they provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Liam MALONEY, 29 years of age from Parkhill has been charged with:

–      Impaired Operation – alcohol and drug,

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The accused was additionally charged with offences found in the Highway Traffic Act, and Cannabis Control Act.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days and the accused’ driver’s licence was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on June 02, 2025.

19 Year Old Drunk Driver Arrested

(BROCKTON, ON) – On May 3, 2025, at approximately 3:28 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) along Concession 8, Municipality of Brockton.

A vehicle entered the area where police then spoke with the driver. The investigating officer detected signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported for further testing.

Owen BREEN, 19-years-old, resident of Brockton, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – B.A.C. 80 plus, CC 320.14(1)(b)
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero, HTA 44.1(3)

The accused is set to appear on May 28, 2025, at the Walkerton Court of Justice to answer to the charges.

Assault & Forcible Confinement #WaitInTheTruck

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – On April 25th, 2025, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a matter involving intimate partners in the Municipality of South Huron.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had allegedly committed criminal acts against their partner.

A 54-year-old individual from South Huron has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

–      Assault – Spousal,

–      Forcible Confinement.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on May 26th, 2025.

31 Year Old From Goderich Arrested

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Goderich resident with criminal driving offences following an investigation in the Town of Goderich on April 25th, 2025. 

Just after 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 25, 2025, Huron County OPP officers responded to an address on East Street in Goderich for an unrelated matter. Officers spoke to an individual at the scene and discovered that they had consumed alcohol prior to driving.

The driver was subsequently arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton where they provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Josh WHITELY, 31 years-of-age from Goderich has been charged with:

–      Impaired Operation – alcohol and drug,

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The vehicle involved was towed and impounded for 7 days, and the accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on May 26, 2025.

17 Year Old Drunk Driver Arrested

(HURON-KINLOSS, ON) – On April 6, 2025, at approximately 2:31 a.m., a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped to check a vehicle along Sideroad 20, Township of Huron-Kinloss.

The investigating officer detected signs of impairment from the involved driver. The driver was placed under arrest and transported for further testing.

A 17-year-old resident of Huron-Kinloss, was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), CC 320.14(1)(b)
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero, HTA 44.1(3)

The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton Court of Justice at a later date to answer to the charges.
