KUMAR & Singh Arrested – Details Released

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two individuals with alcohol related charges on Friday.

On May 23, 2025, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Caledon OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint regarding a vehicle displaying poor driving behaviour. Shortly after, officers located the vehicle on Highway 10, near Charleston Sideroad, in the Town of Caledon. Investigating officers conducted a traffic stop upon the vehicle and formed grounds that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

Following the investigation, Sukhpal Singh, 23, of Brampton, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Just hours later, on the same day, Caledon OPP officers received a report of a single vehicle collision on The Gore Road, near Mayfield Road, in the Town of Caledon. Shortly after 11:45 p.m., officers arrived on scene and subsequently formed grounds that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

As a result of the investigation, Abhinandan KUMAR, 23, of Brampton, was charged with:

  • Driving while under suspension
  • Possess more than one licence
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Both accused are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on June 12, 2025, to answer to their charges. The vehicles were also impounded for a period of seven days, and their driver’s licences were suspended for a period of 90 days.

Drivers continue to take chances. It’s simply not worth the risk. Motorists are reminded that no amount of alcohol or drugs in your system is safe when driving. If you plan on drinking or consuming drugs, plan to not drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or come up with another plan that takes impaired driving out of the picture. If you suspect that someone is driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs, it is important to call 9-1-1 to report it.

3 Vehicle Collision On Hwy 10

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Caledon Detachment are investigating a three-vehicle motor vehicle collision that occurred on Highway 10 and Old Base Line Road in the Town of Caledon.

On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at approximately 7:58 a.m. officers were dispatched to a three-vehicle collision involving a tractor trailer, cube van and a pickup truck at the intersection of Highway 10 and Old Base Line Road in the Town of Caledon. Upon arrival officers found one driver trapped in a vehicle, while the other two drivers on scene also sustained injuries from the collision.

With the assistance of Peel Regional Paramedic Services and Caledon Fire Services the trapped occupant was extracted from the vehicle. All three drivers were transported to local area hospitals with injuries ranging from minor to life threatening. However, the injuries for all the drivers were downgraded to non-life threatening.

Highway 10 and Old Base Line Road remained closed while members of Caledon OPP conducted a thorough investigation. Both roads have since been reopened.

Caledon Weekend Update

(CALEDON, ON) – Between May 2 and May 5, 2025, officers from the Caledon Detachment of Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged four drivers for impaired operation, six for stunt driving, and laid over 160 traffic-related charges.

On May 3, 2025, shortly after 1:00 a.m., an officer responding to a traffic complaint on Highway 10, near Highpoint Side Road, located a driver and formed grounds that their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol, leading to an arrest.

Esmeralda MELENDEZ, 27, of Tottenham, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – Blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Shortly after 2:00 a.m. on the same day, an officer stopped a vehicle on Highway 50, near Mayfield Road, for a traffic-related violation. The investigation led to an arrest since the officer formed grounds that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

Fabricio SARABIA, 41, of Toronto, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – Blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

On May 4, 2025, just after 5:00 a.m., officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Airport Road, near King Street. The officer formed grounds that the driver’s ability was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested.

Simran DHALIWAL, 22, of Hillsburgh, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – Blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

On May 5, 2025, just before 3:00 a.m., officers responded to a single vehicle collision on Innis lake Road, north of Castlederg Side Road. Grounds were formed that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol, leading to an arrest.

SUKMAN, 26, of Brampton, was charged with:

·      Failure or refusal to comply with demand

·      Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available

On May 4, 2025, shortly before 8:00 p.m., officers responding to a traffic complaint stopped a motor vehicle on Highway 9, near Highway 50. Upon stopping the vehicle, officers entered into a stolen property investigation.

As a result, Apinesh ESWARADEVAN, 20, of Toronto, was charged with:

·      Breach of recognizance

·      Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000

Abinesh GUNABALASINGAM and Jeron JESUNAYAGAM, both 18 and of Brampton, were also charged with:

·      Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000

Motorists charged with impaired operation related offences had their drivers licenses suspended for 90 days, and their vehicles impounded for seven days.

Mohammadreza HEIDARI – Theft & Trafficking

(CALEDON, ON) – Members of the Caledon OPP Detachment Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) were able to recover a cube van load of stolen property following an investigation in the Town of Caledon.

The Caledon OPP CSCU initiated an investigation starting near the beginning of April 2025 following a report of theft from a Caledon based company. On Friday, April 25, 2025 a search warrant was executed at a residence in Georgetown resulting in the recovery of approximately $350,000 worth of stolen property. 

As a result of the investigation one suspect was arrested and charged.

Mohammadreza HEIDARI, 40 years old, from Georgetown has been charged with:

  • Theft Over $5000
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
  • Trafficking in Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

The accused is scheduled to appear in Orangeville Provincial Court in June.

Another Home Invasion

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a home invasion on The Gore Road, in the Town of Caledon.

On April 12, 2025, shortly after 5:00 a.m., officers responded to a home invasion at a residence on The Gore Road, near Old Church Road. One occupant was home at the time. Preliminary findings indicate that five male suspects entered the residence and displayed a firearm, believed to be an imitation. After a confrontation with the occupant, the suspects fled in two vehicles: a newer model black or grey Acura TLX sedan and a black Volkswagen Tiguan. Minor injuries were sustained during the incident. Attached are images from surveillance footage.

Hit & Run – Karanvir MANN Arrested

(CALEDON, ON) – Members of the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a failed to remain collision and charged a driver with over four times the legal limit with impaired operation.

On April 10, 2025, shortly after 2:00 p.m., officers responded to a report of a collision on Dotchson Avenue, where a vehicle had failed to remain at the scene. Officers located the vehicle and met with the driver. During the interaction, grounds were formed that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol, leading to the driver’s arrest.  

As a result of the investigation, Karanvir MANN, 33, of Caledon, was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

• Operation while impaired – alcohol 

• Dangerous operation

• Fail to remain

• Fail to report damage to property on highway

The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on May 1, 2025, to answer to the charges. The driver’s licence was also suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle impounded for seven.

One Dead – KARANVIR SINGH Arrested

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating fatal single-vehicle collision on Bramalea Road, in the Town of Caledon.

On April 13, 2025, shortly after 1:30 a.m., Caledon OPP and emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle collision on Bramalea Road, near Boston Mills Road. Three occupants were in the vehicle. One passenger, a 21-year-old from Brampton, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Another passenger, a 20-year-old from Brampton, was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious, life-threatening injuries. The driver was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and was later arrested after officers formed grounds that their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

As a result of the investigation, KARANVIR SINGH, 23, of Brampton, was charged with:

• Impaired operation causing death

• Impaired operation causing bodily harm

• Obstruct peace officer

The accused was held for a Bail Hearing.

Bramalea Road between King Street and Boston Mills Road was closed for several hours while the OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionists assisted with the investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage is asked to contact Caledon OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Jose SACRAMENTO – Drunk Driving

(CALEDON, ON) – Members of the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint, leading officers to charge a driver with impaired operation.

On April 5, 2025, shortly after 10:00 p.m., Caledon OPP responded to a traffic complaint in the area of Mayfield Road and Bramalea Road, in the Town of Caledon. The vehicle was described as being operated in a concerning manner. Officers located the vehicle and met with the driver. During the interaction, grounds were formed that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol, leading to the driver’s arrest.  

As a result of the investigation, Jose SACRAMENTO, 47, of Caledon, was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

• Operation while impaired – alcohol 

The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on April 24, 2025, to answer to the charge. The driver’s licence was also suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle impounded for seven.

Stolen Vehicles Recovered – SINGH & SINGH Arrested

(CALEDON, ON) – Members of the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have recovered two stolen vehicles and charged two individuals.

On March 27, 2025, a stolen vehicle investigation led officers to a residence on Old School Road, in the Town of Caledon. The Caledon OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) was engaged to assist.

A search warrant was authored and executed on the same day and the following items were seized:

• Stolen 2024 Range Rover

• Stolen 2017 Nissan M3S

• A vehicle reprogramming computer

Jagveer SINGH, 21, and Kulwinder SINGH, 24, both of Caledon, were charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000. The accused are scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on May 1, 2025, to answer to their charge.

AI Alert Results In 2 Arrests

(CALEDON, ON) – Members of the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have recovered a stolen vehicle identified by ALPR alerts and laid charges against two individuals.

On March 25, 2025, a stolen vehicle was identified by the police vehicle’s Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system. Just after 2:00 p.m., it led officers to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle in the area of Innis Lake Road and Atchison Drive in Caledon East. The driver and passenger were placed under arrest.  

As a result of the investigation, Varindersingh JOBANPREETSINGH, 23, of Brampton, and Sukhpreet SINGH, 21, of Caledon, were both charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000. The accused are scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on April 24, 2025, to answer to their charge.

If you observed someone attempting to steal your vehicle, do not confront them. Call 9-1-1 immediately and remain in a place of safety. Provide information to police such as your vehicle make, model, year and colour, any tracking devices associated to the vehicle as well as the VIN number. If possible, share physical descriptions of the suspects and anything else that was observed, such as other vehicles in the area at the time of the theft. If you have a tracker installed in your vehicle, do not follow the suspects as doing so may pose a treat to your safety. Instead, relay the whereabouts of your vehicle to police.
