19 Year Old Was Arrested Again – Meth A Factor

(GERALDTON, ON) – One individual is facing charges after a search warrant was executed at a residence in the Town of Geraldton.

In March 2025 members of the of the OPP’s Community Street Crime Unit started an investigation regarding an individual selling illicit substances within the Town of Geraldton. On April 3, 2025 officers executed a search warrant on a residence on 2nd Avenue in the Town of Geraldton. The investigation resulted in the arrest of one individual and the seizure of suspected illicit substances including methamphetamine.

Savannah MESHAKE, 19-years-old of Geraldton, has been charged under the Criminal Code (CC) and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Traffick in Schedule I substance – Methamphetamines
  • Failure to comply with release order

The accused was held for bail and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Thunder Bay on April 4, 2025.

Meth Bust – Ashton THOMPSON

(Geraldton, ON) – A local resident is facing impaired driving charges following a complaint of a motor vehicle stuck in the snowbank.

On March 1st, 2025, at approximately 8:30 a.m., officers from the Greenstone Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle in the snowbank along Highway 11, near Tractor Tire Road.

Through investigation, it was determined the driver was impaired by drug and was subsequently placed under arrest. The driver was then transported back to the Greenstone OPP Detachment for further testing.

A result, Ashton THOMPSON, 24-years-old, of Beardmore, ON, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with,

–      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

–      Possession of a Schedule I substance – Methamphetamine

–      Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Geraldton on April 17, 2025.

Meth Bust: Names Released

(GERALDTON, ON) – Two residents are facing drug trafficking charges after an officer observed a motor vehicle with no taillights illuminated and initiated a traffic stop.  

On February 17, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., members of the Greenstone Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were on general patrol when they observed a motor vehicle with no taillights illuminated on Main Street, Geraldton. A traffic stop was initiated on Bankfield Street, where both the driver and passenger attempted to exit the vehicle.

Further investigation revealed that the driver of the motor vehicle was a suspended driver, and the passenger was wanted by OPP. Both parties were arrested and approximately 240 grams of suspected Methamphetamine, Canadian currency, and items associated with drug trafficking were seized.

As a result, Andrew SUTHERLAND, a 27-year-old of Geraldton, has been charged under the Criminal Code (CC), and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) with:

–      Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

–      Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

–      Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs

–      Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 – In Canada

–      Fail to Comply with Probation – two counts

The accused was held for bail hearing and remanded into custody with a future court date to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay.

Chelsey LETOURNEAU, a 36-year-old of Geraldton, has been charged under the Criminal Code (CC), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and Highway Traffic Act (HTA) with:

–      Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

–      Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

–      Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs

–      Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 – In Canada

–      Driving while under suspension

–      Drive without proper rear light – motor vehicle

–      Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

–      Fail to surrender insurance card

The accused was held for a bail hearing and released from custody, with a future court date to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Geraldton on March 20, 2025.

Joshua BURN – Impaired Driving

(Geraldton, ON) – Members of the Greenstone Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment have arrested and charged one individual with impaired operation.  

On February 7th, 2025, at approximately 10:10 p.m., while on general patrol members of the Greenstone OPP Detachment observed a motor vehicle doing donuts at a local establishment. Officers then observed the vehicle on Main Street and initiated a traffic stop.

Through investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been impaired by alcohol/drug. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Greenstone OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result, Joshua BURN, 39-years-old, of New Brunswick, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

·        Adult Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·        Adult Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Geraldton on March 20th, 2025.

Robert STARR Charged After ALPR Hit

(GERALDTON, ON) – An Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) device alerted officers of an expired licence plate and lead to police seizing thirteen cases of chewing tobacco.

On January 14th, 2025, at approximately 2:00 p.m., members of the Greenstone Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) initiated a traffic stop after an ALPR hit along Highway 11 in Geraldton.

Through investigation, the officer observed several cases of tobacco products. It was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle was over the legal limit and had no permit for the tobacco. Officers seized thirteen cases of chewing tobacco.

As a result, Robert STARR, a 46-year-old from Thunder Bay, has been charged under the Tobacco Tax Act and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act with:

·        Possession of Untaxed Cigars and Other Tobacco

·        Operate a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance

28 Year Old Arrested For Impaired Driving

(GERALDTON, ON) – Members of the Greenstone Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment have arrested and charged one individual with impaired operation. 

 On January 11th, 2025, at 12:25 a.m. members of the Greenstone OPP Detachment initiated to a traffic stop on Main Street in Geraldton.

 Through investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been impaired by alcohol. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Greenstone OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result, Bridge ECHUM-LEGARDE, 28-years-old, of Longlac, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

·        Adult Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·        Adult Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

 The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Geraldton on February 20th, 2025.

Trisha WESLEY Was Arrested

(Geraldton, ON) – The Greenstone Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Hearst resident for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and drug offences.  

On July 19th, 2024, members of the Greenstone OPP detachment responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 11 in the Municipality of Greenstone. Through investigation, officers located suspected Fentanyl and it was determined the driver of the motor vehicle was impaired by drug. The driver was placed under arrest and transported back to the Greenstone OPP detachment for processing. 

As a result, Trisha WESLEY, 37-years-old, of Hearst has been charged under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with:

·      Possession of a schedule 1 substance;

·      Dangerous Operation;

·      Operation While Impaired – Blood Drug Concentration; and,

·      Failure to comply with an Undertaking

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Geraldton on September 19th, 2024.
