North Huron Resident Facing Drunk Driving Charge

(NORTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a North Huron resident with an Impaired driving offence following a traffic stop on January 11, 2025, in the Township of North Huron. 

At about 11:50 p.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2025, Huron County OPP officers were patrolling in the Village of Blyth when they conducted a traffic stop with a motorized snow vehicle (snowmobile). Police spoke to the lone operator and determined that the driver had consumed alcohol prior to driving the machine.

The driver was subsequently arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton where they provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Reid BUTTON, 21 years of age from North Huron has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The involved snowmobile was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on February 24, 2025.

Winghamite Tracks Down Stolen Property – One Arrested #StandYourGround #Enough

(NORTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Huron East resident following an e-bicycle theft in Wingham on January 11, 2025. 

Just after 6:00 p.m., on Saturday, January 11, 2025, Huron County OPP officers were contacted by a complainant who advised that their e-bicycle had just been stolen. The owner followed the bicycle tracks in the snow and located the bicycle and suspect, who fled on foot. The bicycle was recovered by the owner. The suspect was identified and arrested soon after the incident.

Brandon STONE, 32 years of age from Huron East has been charged with:

–      Theft Under $5,000.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on February 3rd, 2025.

North Huron Resident Arrested For Assault With Weapon #WaitInTheTruck

(NORTH HURON, ON) – On January 5th, 2025, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a matter involving intimate partners in the Township of North Huron.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had allegedly committed several criminal acts against their partner.

A 36-year-old individual from North Huron has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

–      Assault with a Weapon – Spousal – (two counts),

–      Assault – Spousal – (two counts),

–      Mischief – Domestic.

The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing where they were remanded into custody with a court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Drunk Driver Arrested In North Huron – Details Released

(NORTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Waterloo resident with Impaired driving offences following a sobriety check at a Festive “Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere” (R.I.D.E.) checkpoint on December 28, 2024, in the Township of North Huron. 

Just before 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024, Huron County OPP officers were conducting a RIDE check in Whitechurch on Amberley Road. A vehicle driver pulled up to the checkpoint to speak with police about an unrelated matter at which time officers determined that the driver had consumed alcohol prior to driving.

The driver was subsequently arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton where they provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Ishrad RAHAMAN, 56 years of age from Waterloo has been charged with:

–      Impaired Operation – Alcohol and Drugs

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80,

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on January 20, 2025.

Daymien BRAK Arrested Again – Indecent Acts, Trespass, Etc.

(NORTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a series of incidents that took place in the Village of Blyth, Township of North Huron between Saturday November 30th, and Sunday December 1st, 2024.   

Huron County OPP received information that an individual had trespassed and committed offences on several properties in Blyth.

As a result of the investigation, a North Huron resident has been charged.

Daymien BRAK, 27 years of age from North Huron has been charged with the following offences:

–      Trespassing at Night – (four counts),

–      Criminal Harassment – besetting and watching – (two counts),

–      Criminal Harassment – repeatedly follow,

–      Indecent Act – (two counts),

–      Being Unlawfully in a Dwelling House,

–      Fail to Comply with Probation.

The accused was arrested on December 11th, processed at the Huron OPP detachment, and held for a bail hearing where they were remanded into custody.

Police continue to investigate the incidents and are seeking the public’s help. If anyone observed or had an interaction with a suspicious male between Nov 30th and December 1st, police would like to hear from you. Paul ADAMS – Impaired Driving

(NORTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Huron East resident with Impaired driving offences following a traffic stop on November 21, 2024, in the Township of North Huron. 

Just after 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2024, Huron County OPP officers conducted a traffic stop on London Road in North Huron. Police spoke to the driver and determined that the driver’s ability to operate the motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

The driver was arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton where they provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Paul ADAMS, 46 years of age from Huron East has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs,

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The accused was additionally charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Driving while under Suspension.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on December 2nd, 2024.

Rising Tensions in North Huron: Wingham Resident Arrested Following Confrontation At Town Hall #Heroes #TakeBackOurCountry

(NORTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating an incident that took place on Josephine Street in the Town of Wingham, Township of North Huron on Thursday November 21, 2024.  

On November 21, 2024, at approximately 9:30 a.m., a Wingham resident attended the North Huron Township Municipal office and interacted with staff.

Just after 10:00 a.m., police were contacted to investigate threats that were made by the individual. Investigators were able to identify and locate the suspect who was arrested just after 12:30 p.m.

Gregory LYNNE, 41 years of age of North Huron has been charged with:

–      Uttering Threats to Cause Bodily Harm or Death,

–      Criminal Harassment.

The accused has been held in custody for a bail hearing appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Wingham Aggravated Assault & Robbery – 2 GRUMMETT-NAIRNs Arrested

(NORTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Major Crime Unit is investigating a serious assault and robbery that took place on Minnie Street in the Town of Wingham, Township of North Huron on Saturday October 5th, 2024.   

On October 5th, 2024, at 7:30 p.m., Huron County OPP officers located an adult victim in Wingham who reported to police that they had been assaulted.

Police investigated the incident and have subsequently arrested and charged two individuals as follows:

Brody GRUMMETT-NAIRN, 29 years of age of North Huron has been charged with:

–      Aggravated Assault,

–      Robbery with Violence.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing where he was remanded into custody awaiting a further court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Morgan GRUMMETT-NAIRN, 24 years of age of North Huron has been charged with:

–      Aggravated Assault,

–      Robbery with Violence,

–      Obstruct Peace Officer.

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing where he was remanded into custody awaiting a further court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Road Closed In Blyth Due To Fire

(BLYTH, ON) – On May 11, 2024, the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a residential structure fire in Blyth, North Huron.

Officers responded with members of the North Huron Fire and Emergency Services at approximately 11:43pm. The residence was unoccupied. 

Emergency Services will be on scene investigating. Dinsley Street will remain closed between Coombs Street and Morris Street in Blyth.

Repeat Offender Arrested Near Wingham

(NORTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Kenilworth resident with Prohibited Driving offences, along with other charges following a traffic stop on April 4th, 2024. 

On Thursday, April 4th, just after 12:00 p.m., Huron County OPP officers conducted a traffic stop for a suspected prohibited driver on Amberley Road, just outside of Wingham, in the Township of North Huron.  

The investigating officer confirmed that the male driver was prohibited from driving under the Criminal Code and was subsequently placed under arrest and taken into custody. The accused was further found to be violating a term of his probation along with two separate driving suspensions.

Wayne FERRIS, 34 years of age from Kenilworth has been charged with:

–      Operation while Prohibited – (two counts),

–      Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

The accused was additionally charged with two counts of Driving while under Suspension – Highway Traffic Act.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for 45 days.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and now has a court appearance scheduled for May 13th, 2024, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
