Fatal Collision

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – An individual has died following a collision involving a passenger vehicle and a pedestrian.

On April 26, 2025, at approximately 10:45 p.m., members from the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision on Highway 19, South-West Oxford Township.

The investigation determined that a pedestrian was struck on the stretch of road between Keswick Road and Ostrander Road.

A 61-year-old from South-West Oxford Township was transported to hospital with life threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased.

The driver of the vehicle reported no injuries.

The road was closed for several hours to facilitate the investigation but has since re-opened.

The Oxford OPP with the assistance of West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team continue to investigate the collision.

Fatal Collision

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – A driver has died following a two-vehicle collision involving a passenger vehicle and a commercial vehicle in Oxford County.

On April 26, 2025, at approximately 11:50 p.m., members from the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Paramedic Services and Fire Services responded to a two-vehicle collision in the eastbound lanes of Highway 401, near Mill Street.

The investigation indicated the passenger vehicle was travelling westbound in the eastbound lanes of the highway.

An 81-year-old resident of Woodstock was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the commercial vehicle reported no injuries.

Two lanes of the highway were closed to facilitate the investigation but have since re-opened.

The Oxford OPP with the assistance of West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team continue to investigate the collision.

Ronald LUCIER – Assault With Weapon

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – On April 21, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a disturbance complaint on Broadway in Tillsonburg.

The investigation determined that there was an altercation between two people and one individual was taken into custody.

Ronald LUCIER, 48-years-old of Tillsonburg has been charged with the following offences:

  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Uttering Threats – Cause Deth of Bodily Injury
  • Fail to Comply with Undertaking

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on a later date.

Fatal Pedestrian Vs Train Collision

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – One person has died following a collision in Oxford County.

On April 23, 2025, at approximately 4:30 a.m., the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Oxford Fire and Paramedic Services responded to a collision, where a pedestrian had been struck by a train.

The investigation determined that a pedestrian was struck on the rail line between 27th Line and 29th Line, north of Road 68, Zorra Township.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A road closure was in effect for the protection of emergency responders and to facilitate the investigation but has since reopened.

2 More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – Two individuals are facing impaired driving related offences in Oxford County after two separate incidents that occurred on Saturday night.

On March 15, 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m., a member of the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on general patrol when they stopped a vehicle on Highway 59 in Norwich Township for concerning driving behaviour.

Benjamin Stevens, 49-years-old, of the City of Woodstock, has been charged with:

·      Operation while Impaired – Drugs

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on April 8, 2025.

On March 16, 2025, at approximately 4:30 a.m., members of the Oxford OPP were dispatched to a report of a single motor vehicle collision that occurred on Highway 401 in the Township of Southwest Oxford. Police attended and located the lone occupant of the vehicle.

Jaidon Blakeman, 22-years-old, of the City of Hamilton, has been charged with:

·      Operation while Impaired – Blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on April 29, 2025.

Both accused received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

Fatal Collision

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision in Tillsonburg.

At approximately 12:22 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025, officers from the Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Oxford County Paramedic Services and the Oxford County Fire Department, responded to a collision between a sedan and a train on Bayham Drive in Tillsonburg, Oxford County.

As a result, the 56-year-old driver of the sedan, a resident of London, Ontario, was transported to the hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased.

Bayham Drive, between Highway 3 and Pressey Road, is expected to remain closed for several hours as the investigation continues.

The West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team is assisting with the investigation and is asking anyone who was travelling on Bayham Drive and witnessed the collision, or who has any relevant information, to contact Oxford County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Stephen BELL – Drunk Driving

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – An individual from Woodstock is facing impaired driving-related charges stemming from a traffic complaint from a member of the public.

On February 28, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., members of the Oxford Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment were dispatched to Highway 59 in Norwich Township, to a vehicle that was reported driving erratically.

Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

·      Operation while Impaired – Alcohol

·      Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)

Stolen Vehicle Recovered: Katie LONGLADE Arrested

 (OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – One individual is facing charges after stealing a vehicle from a driveway in the Town of Ingersoll.

 On February 22, 2025, at approximately 9:45 p.m., members of Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a report of a stolen vehicle from a residence on Victoria Street in Ingersoll.

 The vehicle was recovered a short time later on Noxon Street in Ingersoll.

 As a result of the investigation, Katie LONGLADE, a 39-year-old resident of Ingersoll has been charged with:

·      Theft of Motor Vehicle

·      Possession of a Schedule I Substance

·      Fail to Comply with Probation Order

 The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on March 18, 2025.

2 More Impaired Drivers

 (OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – Members of the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to two separate incidents this past Saturday morning, resulting in impaired driving charges.

 On February 22, 2025, at approximately 7:30 a.m., members of Oxford OPP were dispatched to a traffic complaint, on the westbound lanes of Highway 401, in the Township of South-West Oxford.

 As a result of the investigation, Desiree LUMLEY, a 28-year-old resident of London has been charged with:

  •  Operation While Impaired
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 plus

 The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, in Woodstock on April 1, 2025.

Approximately one hour later, at approximately 8:30 a.m., members of Oxford OPP were dispatched to another traffic complaint, this time on the eastbound lanes of Highway 401, in the Township of South-West Oxford.

 As a result of the investigation, Me-Me-Keau, a 38-year-old resident of London has been charged with:

  •        Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  •       Operation While Impaired
  •       Take Motor Vehicle Without Consent
  •       Theft Under $5000
  •       Drive While Under Suspension
  •       Drive Motor Vehicle Without a Licence

 The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, in Woodstock on April 8, 2025.

Fatal Collision

(OXFORD, ON) – The Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred on February 20, 2025, at approximately 10:53 p.m. on Road 68 between 45th Line and Zorra-East Zorra Tavistock Line.

Emergency services, including Oxford OPP, Oxford Fire, and EMS, responded to the scene.

A 27-year-old male driver from Ingersoll was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other driver, a 27 year-old male, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation. The OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team are on scene to continue the investigation.

Road 68 remains closed between 45th Line and Zorra-East Zorra Tavistock Line and is expected to remain closed for most of the night. Motorists are asked to avoid the area and find alternate routes.
