911 Caller Arrested After Assaulting Police

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual following an incident that took place in the Municipality of South Huron on Saturday March 8th, 2025.   

At 10:00 a.m., police were contacted to investigate a series of 911 calls made to police by an individual who was misusing the emergency phone line. Police attended and spoke to the individual who was arrested shortly after for the offence of Public Mischief. During their arrest, the accused resisted arrest and subsequently assaulted three OPP officers.

Rita STEWART, 44 years of age from South Huron has been charged with:

–      Public Mischief,

–      Assault a Peace Officer – (three counts),

–      Resist Peace Officer.

The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich where they were later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for April 7th, 2025.

Arrest In South Huron – Details Released

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Lambton Shores resident with criminal driving offences following a collision on March 4th, 2025, in the Municipality of South Huron. 

Just before 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4th, 2025, Huron County OPP officers received a report of a collision involving a pickup truck on its side on Airport Line in South Huron. Police spoke to the driver and determined that the driver’s ability to operate the motor vehicle was impaired.

The driver was arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton where they provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Scott MacGregor, 63 years of age from Lambton Shores has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs,

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on March 31, 2025.

Exeter Drug Bust – Name Released

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – An investigation conducted by officers from the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Huron County OPP Major Crime Unit, Huron-Perth OPP Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU), Wellington County OPP CSCU, and Grey-Bruce OPP CSCU, resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs and offence-related property. Criminal charges have been laid against two South Huron residents.

An investigation initiated in January 2025 by members of the Huron-Perth CSCU led investigators to addresses in South Huron.

On Friday, February 21, 2025, search warrants were executed on Main Street and McConnell Street in the Town of Exeter, Municipality of South Huron, which resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs and related property. Two individuals have been arrested and charged.

A quantity of suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine were seized. The total value of the illegal drugs seized is estimated at $15,990. Additional offence-related property and cash seized by police totalled $3,250.

Kyle CAMPBELL, 38 years of age from South Huron has been charged with:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl,
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine,
  • Possession of a Prohibited Device,
  • Possession of a Weapon contrary to Prohibition Order,
  • Fail to Comply with condition of Release Order.

The accused was processed, held for a bail hearing, and later remanded into custody with a court date scheduled at the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice.

Larissa LE, 32 years of age from South Huron has been charged with:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court date scheduled at the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice on March 31, 2025.

KUNZLE Was Arrested Again- Theft, Trespass at Night, Etc.

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a South Huron resident following a theft from a property in the Municipality of South Huron, Exeter on February 28, 2025. 

On Monday, March 3rd, 2025, Huron County OPP officers were contacted by property owners who reported a theft that had occurred on February 28, 2025. The suspect was captured on video surveillance and police were able to identify the culprit.

Officers located and arrested the suspect on March 4th. The stolen item was recovered and returned to the rightful owners. The accused has been charged as follows:

David KUNZLE, 26 years of age from South Huron has been charged with:

–      Theft Under $5,000,

–      Trespassing by Night,

–      Fail to Comply with Probation Order,

–      Fail to Comply with Release Order.

The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing where they were later remanded into custody with a pending court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Michael GREER Arrested Again!

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a South Bruce resident with a long list of offences following a truck theft on January 29, 2025, in the Municipality of South Huron. 

Just after 8:20 p.m., on Thursday, January 29, 2025, Huron County OPP officers were contacted by a complainant who reported that their 2023 Dodge pickup truck had just been stolen from a business property in South Huron.

The truck was equipped with a GPS tracking device, which led officers to the vehicle in Crediton, South Huron. A suspect was observed with the vehicle, and they were subsequently arrested at the scene.

The suspect has been charged as follows:

Michael GREER, 37 years of age from Kinloss, South Bruce has been charged with:

–      Theft of Motor Vehicle,

–      Operation while Prohibited – (four counts),

–      Possession of Prohibited Device or Ammunition,

–      Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order – (two counts),

–      Fail to Comply with Probation – (two counts).

The accused was additionally charged with offences found in the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) – Driving while Under Suspension – (three counts).

The accused was processed and held in custody for a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich, where they were remanded into custody.

South Huron Resident Arrested For Theft – Details Released

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a South Huron resident following a theft from a retail store north of Grand Bend in the Municipality of South Huron on January 12, 2025. 

On Wednesday, January 15, 2025, Huron County OPP officers were contacted by staff at a South Huron retail store who reported a theft that had occurred on January 12, 2025. The suspect and vehicle description were provided to police.

Officers identified the suspect and arrested them on January 16th. They have been charged as follows:

Andrew HARVEY, 45 years of age from South Huron has been charged with:

–      Theft Under $5,000.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on February 10, 2025.

Crediton Drug Bust – Names Released

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – An investigation conducted by the Huron-Perth Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU), West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), West Region Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), and Huron County OPP detachment resulted in the seizure of weapons and stolen property. Criminal charges have been laid against two individuals.

An investigation that began in December 2024 eventually led investigators to an address in Crediton, Municipality of South Huron.

On Wednesday, January 08, 2025, a search warrant was executed on Victoria Avenue East in the Village of Crediton which resulted in the recovery and seizure of stolen property as well as, imitation firearms, knives, brass knuckles, firearm magazines, firearm components, and a stun gun. Two individuals have been arrested and charged.

Mitchell HARRIS, 36 years of age from South Huron has been charged with:

  • Break and Enter,
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – (two counts),
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order – (two counts).

The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing at the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice, where they were remanded into custody.

Ryan GREEN, 43 years of age from Goderich has been charged with:

  • Break and Enter – (two counts),
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – (nine counts),
  • Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose,
  • Possession of Prohibited Device or Ammunition – (three counts),
  • Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order – (six counts),
  • Possession of Identity Document – (five counts),
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order – (eight counts).

The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing at the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice, where they were remanded into custody.

Setting Off Fireworks While Walking Gets Matthew SANGSTER Arrested Again – Meth A Factor

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – The Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a South Huron resident following an incident on Anne Street in the Town of Exeter, Municipality of South Huron. 

On Thursday, January 02, 2025, just after 9:00 p.m., Huron OPP officers were patrolling in the Town of Exeter when they observed an individual setting off fireworks while walking on Anne Street. Police subsequently arrested the individual and located illegal weapons and drugs.

Matthew SANGSTER, 35 years of age from South Huron has been charged with the following offences:

–      Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition – (two counts),

–      Carry Concealed Prohibited Device or Ammunition – (two counts),

–      Possession of Methamphetamine,

–      Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking,

–      Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order – (two counts),

The accused was processed at the Huron OPP detachment and has been held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Alleged Bitcoin Scam In Area

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a recent scam that took place in South Huron.

On December 28, 2024, Huron OPP received a report of a fraud that had taken place that same afternoon at a business in Exeter.

Police were advised that an employee at a retail business had been messaged on their cellular phone via text indicating it was their supervisor. The “supervisor” directed the employee to collect all cash on site and deposit it into a Bitcoin machine in the City of London. The employee was further advised to keep this transaction discreet. The employee proceeded to deposit $9,800 in cash into a Bitcoin machine in London.

The victim later contacted their supervisors directly to follow up and discovered that they had been scammed.

Jesse SIMPSON From South Huron Was Arrested

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a South Huron resident with an Impaired driving offence following a traffic stop in Exeter, Municipality of South Huron on December 19, 2024. 

At approximately 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2024, Huron County OPP stopped a vehicle on Main Street South in Exeter. Police discovered that the driver had consumed alcohol prior to driving.

The driver was subsequently arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton where they provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Jesse SIMPSON, 25 years of age from South Huron has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The accused was additionally charged with offences found in the Highway Traffic Act and Liquor Licence Control Act.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on January 20, 2025.
