Meth Bust – Nicholas MALETTE

(SOUTH PORCUPINE, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrest one person for drug related offences.

On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at approximately 2:30 a.m., the South Porcupine OPP located a vehicle in a snowbank at the intersection of Highway 101 and Highway 655 in the City of Timmins. Police found the driver inside and was transported to detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation the OPP seized a suspected amount of crack cocaine, cocaine and methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $1,100. Also seized was an amount of Canadian currency.

Nicholas MALETTE, 29 years-old, of Timmins was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Operation while impaired – drugs
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine – two counts
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday, June 5, 2025, in Timmins.
