Fatal Collision Claims 3 Lives – All From Huron County

(HOWICK TWP, ON) – A two-vehicle collision involving a passenger car and pickup truck has claimed the lives of all three occupants. 

Just before 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 14th, 2024, members from Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Huron County Paramedic Services, and North Huron Fire Department responded to a location on Harriston Road just north of C Line Road in the Township of Howick after receiving a 9-1-1 call about a collision.

Upon arrival, emergency services located both heavily damaged vehicles and discovered that two vehicle occupants had sustained fatal injury and were pronounced deceased at the scene. A third occupant was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.

Members from the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement (TIME) Team attended the scene to assist with the collision investigation. Harriston Road was closed for several hours.

The investigation is ongoing, and the cause of the collision is being investigated. 

The deceased drivers and passenger were all residents of Huron County.

“This is the second tragic collision in two days to occur on Huron County roadways. Our thoughts are with the families of those that lost their lives”, stated Constable Craig Soldan, Community Safety and Media Relations Officer with the Huron OPP.

Fatal Motorcycle Collision

(MORTON, ON) – TheLeeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motorcycle collision where the operator was pronounced deceased on-scene.

Members of the OPP were dispatched to the collision on March 13, 2024, around 4:30 p.m. It occurred at the intersection of Ritz Road, Troy Lake Road and Jones Falls Road – otherwise known as County Road 11 – located just west of Morton.

Lifesaving measures were immediately taken, however the operator of the motorcycle succumbed to his injuries. He has been identified as a 21-year-old man from the Kingston area.

OPP Collision Reconstructionists and members of the Traffic Collision Investigation Team continue to assist Leeds County OPP officers with the investigation.

Fatal Collision

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Two vehicle collision in Middlesex Centre leaves one involved occupant deceased and three others with serious injuries.

On March 10, 2024, at 7:57 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Middlesex-London Paramedic Service and Middlesex Centre Fire, were dispatched to Highbury Avenue North in Middlesex Centre, for the report of a serious collision involving two vehicles.

As a result, three individuals were transported to hospital with serious injuries.

One individual, an 85-year-old of London, died as a result of the collision.

The OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team was on scene to assist with the investigation.

The roadway remained closed for the investigation between Plover Mills and Ilderton Road for approximately 4 hours few hours.

The investigation is continuing.

Fatal Collision

(PERTH EAST, ON) – One person is deceased following a single vehicle collision in Perth County.

On March 6, 2024, just before 11:00 p.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Stratford Police Service, Perth County Paramedic Services, and Perth East Fire Services responded to a report of a tractor that had left the roadway on Line 29 between Road 111 and Road 112.

One person was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Line 29 remains closed between Road 111 and Road 112 due to the on-going investigation. Members of the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team are assisting Perth County OPP with the investigation.

Fatal Collision Closes Roads

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – One person is deceased following a two-vehicle collision in Bruce County.

On March 2, 2024, the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at Bruce Road 8 and Bruce Road 14 in South Bruce Peninsula.

One person was pronounced deceased. Two other individuals have been taken to a London hospital with serious injuries.

There are road closures at Bruce Road 14 at Silver Lake Road, Bruce Road 8 at Municipal Road, Bruce Road 8 at Allenford Road, Sideroad 15 at Spring Creek Road. Please avoid the area.

Fatal Collision Update

(GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On February 28, 2024, at 9:00 p.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 21 between Grey Road 3 and Grey Road 18, Georgian Bluffs. 

Officers responded to the scene with members of the Grey County Paramedic Services and the Intertownship Fire department to find a pick-up truck and sedan involved in the collision.

A passenger, a 67-year-old from Etobicoke was transported to Bright Shores Heath System in Owen Sound where they were pronounced deceased.

Members of the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team are assisting the Grey Bruce OPP with the investigation.

The road was closed for several hours but has since re-opened.

Fatal Collision Closes Hwy 21

(GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious motor vehicle collision.

On February 28, 2024, at 9:00 p.m., the Grey Bruce OPP, along with Grey County Paramedic Services and the Intertownship Fire department responded to a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 21 in Georgian Bluffs. One person transported to hospital where they were pronounced deceased.

The investigation is ongoing, and members of the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team are assisting the Grey Bruce OPP with the investigation.

Highway 21 between Grey Road 18 and Grey Road 3 remains closed for the protection of emergency responders and to facilitate the investigation and will likely be closed for several hours. Motorists are asked to not drive through the road closed signs.
