Daniel Cisneros Was Arrested

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation after receiving information about a possible impaired driver.

On Monday May 19, 2025 at approximately 9:15 pm officers responded to reports regarding a motor vehicle departing a local establishment after being cutoff from service of alcohol. A traffic stop was conducted in Fenelon Township on Highway 35 and the driver was arrested and charged.

Daniel Cisneros, 31-year-old of Whitby, was charged with:

  • Failure or Refusal to Comply with Lawful Demand
  • Operation while Prohibited under the Criminal Code

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The motor vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days and drivers license was suspended for 90 days.

John WILLIAMSON Was Arrested In Morris-Turnberry

(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a London resident with criminal driving offences following an investigation in the Township of Morris-Turnberry on April 21st, 2025. 

Just after 1:20 p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2025, Huron County OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint in the Township of Morris-Turnberry. Officers located the suspect vehicle shortly after and spoke to the driver. The driver refused to provide a breath sample as required by law and was subsequently arrested. Further checks by police revealed that the driver was prohibited from driving. The accused was charged as follows:

John WILLIAMSON, 48 years-of-age from London has been charged with:

–      Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand,

–      Operation while Prohibited.

The vehicle involved was towed and impounded for 45 days.

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on June 9th, 2025.

Ali Anne BIERNASKIE Was Arrested

(MADAWASKA VALLEY TWP, ON) – An area resident is facing a driving-related charge under the Criminal Code (CC) after a traffic stop in Barrys Bay on the afternoon of March 23, 2025.  Members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Highway 60 after an alert was received from the Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) integrated with the police cruiser’s In-Car Camera (ICC).     

As a result of this investigation 37-year-old Ali Anne BIERNASKIE of Killaloe-Hagarty-Richards Township is charged with the following CC offence:

·        Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code

The accused was released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on May 12, 2025, and their vehicle was towed and impounded for 45 days. 

The ALPR system can read thousands of licence plates per minute allowing officers to process more information on licence plates. It also has the capability of capturing vehicles of interest such as Amber Alerts, drivers with a suspended licence and stolen vehicles.

Arshheer BARIANA Was Arrested

(BRANT, ON) – Members of the Brant County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one individual following a traffic complaint at a business on Pinehurst Road in Paris.

On March 25, 2025, at approximately 3:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver in a parking lot on Pinehurst Road. Officers located the vehicle and conducted an investigation.

As a result of the investigation, Arshheer BARIANA, 24 years old, of Brant, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Operation While Prohibited
  • Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand
  • Obstruct Peace Officer

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on April 10, 2025.

Kevin LUMLEY Was Arrested

(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) – In-car camera alert leads to multiple charges for driver.

On March 17, 2025, at 9:21 a.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on general patrol on Grand Bend Line in North Middlesex, received an alert on the Automatic Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system for a possible suspended driver.

A traffic stop was initiated.

As a result, Kevin LUMLEY, a 48-year-old of Sarnia, has been charged under the Criminal Code and the Highway Traffic Act with:

·      Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code

·      Driving while under suspension (two counts)

·      Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

·      Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit

·      Obstruct plate

·      Colour coating obscuring interior

The accused has been released from police custody and is and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on May 14, 2025, to speak to the charges. 

The In Car Camera and ALPR have been operating in Middlesex County OPP vehicles since March 13, 2023. Middlesex OPP officers continue to see drivers operating vehicles that do not have valid, registered licence plates, are currently driving unlicenced, while under suspension or prohibited.

Erin PRENTICE Was Arrested

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – A traffic stop in Delhi led to a prohibited driver being charged.

At approximately 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2025, an officer from the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop and investigation on Talbot Road in Delhi, Norfolk County.

The investigation revealed that the driver was prohibited from operating a vehicle. They were subsequently taken into custody without incident.

54-year-old Erin PRENTICE from Hamilton, Ontario, has been charged with the following alleged offence:

  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.

Vehicle Bursts Into Flames – WATSON Arrested

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after a collision in the Town of Arnprior.

On March 11, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Renfrew OPP responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Madawaska Boulevard and Bridge Street. Police arrived on scene to find a vehicle fully engulfed in flames. All occupants were out of the vehicles. The driver of the second vehicle was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

Police closed Madawaska Boulevard in both directions to complete the investigation. Arnprior Fire Department attended the scene and extinguished the flames.

As a result of the investigation, the driver of the burned vehicle, Jack Patrick WATSON, age 26 of Arnprior, was charged with:

·      Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code

·      Failure or refusal to comply with breath sample demand

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on April 9, 2025. The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days.

Kenneth MACKAY Charged Again

(MUNICIPALITY OF TRENT HILLS, ON) – The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual for driving while prohibited.

On March 6, 2025, at around 3:20 p.m., an officer was conducting speed enforcement on Concession Road 13 when they observed a pickup truck travelling at 87 Km/h in a posted 50 Km/h limit. Police were then alerted by the in-car Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) regarding a suspended driver.

OPP then spoke to the motorist and confirmed them to be prohibited from driving.

As a result, Kenneth MACKAY (age 63) from Hastings, has been charged with:

–      Speeding

–      Operate a motor vehicle without insurance

–      Operation while prohibited.

The vehicle was impounded for 180 days and the accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.

Steven AUBREY Facing Several Charges

(BONNECHERE VALLEY TWP, ON) – A local driver is facing several charges after a recent investigation by members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

On the afternoon of January 5, 2025, off-duty members of the UOV OPP intervened at a gas station in Bonnechere Valley Township to prevent an individual from driving. The individual fled on foot resulting in the OPP Canine Unit and Emergency Response Team (ERT) members being deployed. Police were not able to locate the individual at that time.  

As a result of the investigation, on January 13, 2025, police arrested and charged 34-year-old Steven AUBREY of Laurentian Valley Township with the following Criminal Code (CC), Liquor Licence Control Act (LLCA), Cannabis Control Act (CCA) and Highway Traffic Act (HTA) offences:

·        Operation while prohibited

·        Having care or control of a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor

·        Having care or control of a motor vehicle with cannabis in open baggage

·        Drive motor vehicle – not equipped with ignition interlock device

The accused was released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on February 5, 2025, and the vehicle was towed and impounded for 45 days.

Serge CHIMU Was Arrested

(OTTAWA, ON) – Members of the Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual from Ottawa with multiple Criminal Code charges after they were stopped for driving while under suspension.

Shortly after 3:00 p.m. on December 14, OPP received a notification from the Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) camera that the registered owner of a vehicle driving in front of them was a suspended driver. Investigation revealed the driver was prohibited from driving under the Criminal Code and their vehicle was not insured.

Serge CHIMU, 38 years of age faces the following charges:

  • Operation While Prohibited
  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Operate a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance

Chimu’s vehicle was also impounded for 45 days. Chimu is set to appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
