Fatal Pedestrian Collision

The Windsor Police Service is investigating a motor vehicle collision that left one pedestrian dead.

At approximately 5 p.m. on January 21, 2025, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Twin Oaks Drive and Munich Court following a report of a collision involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian. An initial investigation determined that a 47-year-old woman attempted to cross Twin Oaks Drive on foot and was struck by a passing pickup truck.

The victim was transported to hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

The motorist remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

The area was closed for several hours while members of the Windsor Police Collision Reconstruction and Forensic Identification Units processed the scene.

Fatal Pedestrian Collision

(Kingston, ON) – A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and pronounced deceased after attempting to cross the 401 highway in Kingston overnight.

On January 16,2025 just after 01:30 am Frontenac OPP members were called to the 401 highway between Highway 15 and the Montreal Street exits for a collision involving a pedestrian crossing the highway. A vehicle collided with the pedestrian, who was pronounced deceased at the scene as a result.

Frontenac OPP assisted by Kingston Fire Rescue, and Frontenac Paramedic Service continued the investigation, which had the highway closed for several hours. A Technical Collision Investigator (OPP) and the Coroners Office of Ontario will continue to investigate the collision.

The identity of the deceased person has not been confirmed at this time. Frontenac OPP would like to request any witness information or dash cam footage to assist in this investigation.

Pedestrian Killed By City Bus

A Fergus man is dead after he was struck by a city bus in downtown Guelph Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency services were called at 1:37 p.m. to the intersection of Wyndham Street North and Carden Street. Investigation revealed a 49-year-old Fergus man was struck as he crossed Wyndham Street.

The male was extricated from under the bus by Guelph Fire Department personnel but pronounced dead a short time later.

15 Year Old Pedestrian Killed By Drinking Driver

(Sydenham, ON) – A pedestrian has been pronounced deceased after being struck by a vehicle on Rosedale Road, in South Frontenac Township.

Just after 5:30 pm on January 04, 2025, Frontenac OPP members, assisted by South Frontenac Fire Rescue, and Frontenac Paramedics responded to a vehicle collision that happened on Rosedale Road, which is just north of the village of Sydenham.

A commercial express van was traveling along the road and struck a pedestrian who was walking in the same direction. A 15-year-old male, from Kingston was pronounced deceased at the scene by Paramedics. A second pedestrian received minor injuries and was transported to hospital, because of this collision.  

The vehicle driver, a 57-year-old male from Harrowsmith, was located at the scene and spoke to investigators. Alcohol was detected by officers and breath testing was completed at the roadside. The driver registered in the warning range and received an administrative driver’s licence suspension, for a three-day period. The vehicle was towed from the scene for further examination.

The road was closed for several hours as the investigation continued with a Technical Collision Investigator (OPP), Reconstructionist (OPP) and the Chief Coroners office of Ontario.

Frontenac OPP is asking for public assistance in providing any witness information, dash camera footage, or doorbell camera views of the collision.

UPDATE: Pedestrain Succumbs To Injuries

UPDATE – LONDON, ON (December 31, 2024) – Members of the LPS Traffic Management Unit continue to investigate a serious motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian that occurred earlier this month.

The female pedestrian transported to hospital by paramedic services, has succumbed to her injuries.

She has been identified as Sachina Shrestha, 21, of London.

Our thoughts are with her family and friends.

Investigators continue to appeal to members of the public who may have been in the area of Huron and Adelaide streets between 8 p.m. – 8:15 p.m. on December 9, 2024, who may have dash-cam, residential or business video surveillance that could assist with the investigation, to contact the London Police Service. 

The investigation remains ongoing and additional information will be provided as appropriate.

ORIGINAL – LONDON, ON (December 10, 2024) – Members of the London Police Service Traffic Management Unit are investigating a serious motor vehicle collision that took place late last night in the north end of the city.

On Monday, December 9, 2024, shortly after 8 p.m., emergency crews responded to the area of Huron and Adelaide streets in relation to reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a motor vehicle.

The involved female pedestrian was transported to hospital by paramedic services.

The involved driver remained on scene.

The roadway was closed for a period of time.

The pedestrian remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are asking any member of the public that may have been in the area of Huron and Adelaide streets between 8 p.m. – 8:15 p.m., who may have dash-cam, residential or business video surveillance that could assist with the investigation, to contact the London Police Service.

Another Pedestrian Fatality

(LEAMINGTON, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Leamington Detachment with the assistance of the West Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team is investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian.

On Thursday, August 8, 2024, at approximately 11:56 a.m., members of the OPP Leamington Detachment and Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Service (EMS) responded to a collision at on Erie Street South at Mill Street, Municipality of Leamington.

A pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle on the roadway. The pedestrian, an 86-year-old female, was transported to a local hospital, where they were pronounced deceased a short time later.

West Region OPP TIME Team members are actively conducting an ongoing investigation and are appealing to the public for assistance. Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact the police at 1-888-310-1122.

Another Pedestrian Killed

LONDON, ON (March 13, 2024) – Members of the LPS Traffic Management Unit are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision on Adelaide Street North.

At approximately 12:30 p.m. this afternoon, emergency crews responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian on the Adelaide Street bridge near King Street. As a result of the collision, the pedestrian was pronounced deceased.

The involved vehicle remained on scene, and the investigation is ongoing.

The southbound lanes of Adelaide Street North have been closed between Dundas Street and Hamilton Road and will remain closed for an undetermined amount of time as the investigation continues.

Investigators are urging anyone who was in the area between 12:15 p.m. and 12:45 p.m. that may have dash-cam or security footage that could assist with the investigation, to contact the London Police Service.
