Moncef LOUHICHI – Theft, Etc.

(CLARENCE-ROCKLAND, ON) – Three youths and an adult from Quebec have been arrested and charged in relation to the theft of a motor vehicle.

On May 20, 2025, at approximately 08:00 a.m., officers from the Russell County Ontario Provincial Police Detachment (OPP) in Rockland responded to a report of a stolen motor vehicle from a parking lot in Clarence-Rockland. Witnesses provided accurate details that were crucial to the investigation.

Members from both Russell County OPP and the Hawkesbury OPP coordinated their efforts and located the stolen vehicle at approximately 08:15 a.m. The driver was arrested at the scene.

Hawkesbury OPP officers located an associated suspect vehicle, observed at the scene at the time of the theft, at approximately 09:35 a.m. and arrested the three occupants.

As a result, 18-year-old, Moncef LOUHICHI, of Terrebonne, Quebec has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·        Possession of a device for the purpose of committing theft

·        Theft of Motor Vehicle

·        Possession of Break in Instruments

·        Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose.

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on June 26, 2025.

The three youths were all charged under the Criminal Code with:

·        Theft of Motor Vehicle

·        Possession of a device for the purpose of committing theft

·        Possession of Break in Instruments

They have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal at a later date.

3 Arrested For Theft

(PERTH, ON) – The Lanark County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following a theft investigation in Perth.

On the Saturday, May 17, 2025, officers responded to a theft in progress at a business in Perth.

Three suspects fled after stealing approximately $1000 worth of alcohol. The were seen heading eastbound in a truck on Highway 7.  

Officers were able to conduct a traffic stop and three people were arrested at the scene and several containers of alcohol seized.

Thomas FAST, 24-years-old of Ottawa, has been charged with:

·          Theft under $5000

·          Fail to comply with release order – two counts

·          Possession of Property obtained by crime

Keith WENNEKES, 51-years-old of Gatineau has been charged with:

·        Theft under $5000

·        Possession of property obtained by crime

Patrick LANGDON, 51-years-old of Ottawa, has been charged with:

·        Possession of property obtained by crime

·        Operate a motor vehicle without insurance

·        Fail to surrender insurance card

·        Drive with obstructed plate

FAST and WENNEKES remain in custody for a bail hearing scheduled before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on May 20, 2025. LANGDON was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on 23 June, 2025.

19 Year Old Arrested – Stolen Vehicle Recovered

(OTTAWA, ON) – Members of the Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges against an individual from Quebec after recovering a stolen motor vehicle.

Shortly after 9:30 a.m. on May 14, an Ottawa OPP member was alerted to a possible stolen vehicle by their Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) camera. The vehicle had been stolen just two days prior from the Waterloo region.  The vehicle was stopped by OPP without incident on Highway 417 near Rochester Street.

As a result, Tysson THIBEAULT, 19 years of age faces the following charges:

  • Theft of Motor Vehicle
  • Possession of Proceeds of Obtained by Crime over $5,000 – in Canada
  • Trafficking in Stolen Goods over $5,000 (incl. possession with intent to traffic)

The accused is set to appear in an Ontario Court of Justice in Ottawa at a later date.

21 Year Old Arrested For Alcohol Theft

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrest a suspect in relation to a $6,100 theft of alcohol. Two suspect still outstanding.

On May 13, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., the Wellington County OPP responded to a theft in progress at a local business in Elora on Metcalfe Street & Water Street East, involving three suspects actively stealing numerous bottles of premium alcohol from the back room of the business, with no regard to the business, the employees or customers inside.

At 7:02 p.m. Wellington County OPP arrived on scene and observed three suspects fleeing the area. A foot pursuit ensued, and one suspect was arrested without incident, and subsequently recovering the stolen alcohol.

As a result of the investigation, Alexandru POPESCU, 21-year-old from Markham is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Theft Over $5,000

The accused remains in custody, pending a bail hearing.

Two other suspects are still outstanding. The Wellington OPP is requesting the public to check their dashcam / CCTV footage between the hours of 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on May 13, 2025, on Metcalfe Street or Water Street East, Elora, in the hopes of capturing the identity of the two remaining suspects and/or their motor vehicle licence plate.

45,000 Chicks Stolen – 41 Year Old From South Huron Arrested

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the reported theft of approximately 45,000 chicks from a farm in South Huron in April 2023 and have now laid charges in the matter.

On Thursday April 20, 2023, Huron OPP officers received a report that 30,000 15-day-old baby chicks were stolen sometime overnight on April 19/20, 2023. This total of stolen chickens was later revised to a total of 45,000 chickens.

The total loss was reportedly valued at over $139,000.

After a lengthy investigation, the Huron County OPP Crime Unit has charged the complainant in this matter with the following offences:

Henk VELDMAN, now 41 years-of-age from South Huron has been charged with:

–      Fraud Over $5,000,

–      Public Mischief.

The accused was arrested and charged on May 6th, 2025. They were processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on May 26, 2025.

Douglas SCOTT Facing Numerous Charges

(LEAMINGTON/KINGSVILLE, ON) – Essex County OPP has charged an individual after a lengthy break and enter investigation in Kingsville and Leamington.

Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with the Essex County Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) investigated eighteen “smash and grab” break and enters that occurred at various businesses between August 29, 2024, to January 13, 2025, in the Towns of Leamington and Kingsville.

As a result of the investigation, Douglas SCOTT a 38-year-old male of Wheatley, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Break, Enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence (two counts)
  • Break & Enter commit Theft (sixteen counts)
  • Mischief Under $5,000 (sixteen counts)
  • Possession of Break-In Instruments (eight counts)
  • Disguise with Intent (fourteen counts)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on June 27, 2025.

Mohammadreza HEIDARI – Theft & Trafficking

(CALEDON, ON) – Members of the Caledon OPP Detachment Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) were able to recover a cube van load of stolen property following an investigation in the Town of Caledon.

The Caledon OPP CSCU initiated an investigation starting near the beginning of April 2025 following a report of theft from a Caledon based company. On Friday, April 25, 2025 a search warrant was executed at a residence in Georgetown resulting in the recovery of approximately $350,000 worth of stolen property. 

As a result of the investigation one suspect was arrested and charged.

Mohammadreza HEIDARI, 40 years old, from Georgetown has been charged with:

  • Theft Over $5000
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
  • Trafficking in Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

The accused is scheduled to appear in Orangeville Provincial Court in June.

Do You Recogize This Theft Suspect?

(WELLINGTON NORTH TWP, ON) – Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is asking for the public’s assistance as it investigates two businesses that were broken into.

On April 26, 2025, the Wellington County OPP received two separate reports of break and enters which occurred near the intersection of Main Street South and Queen Street East in Mount Forest.

The first reported break-in occurred sometime overnight between April 25, 2025, and April 26, 2025, on Queen Street East. An unknown suspect(s) gained entry to the business by breaking in through a basement window. The store was ransacked, and a laptop computer was stolen.

The second break-in occurred on April 26, 2025, at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Main Street South. A lone suspect was captured on security video. The suspect broke in through a rear door and stole cash and a “point of sale” terminal.

The suspect was wearing a dark jacket, grey hoodie, gray pants, and light coloured running shoes.

Do You Recognize This Theft Suspect?

(PETAWAWA, ON) – Members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating the theft of a quantity of alcohol from a business in Petawawa.

The incident took place on the afternoon of Thursday, April 10, 2025, after two adults males entered the store and stole bottles of alcohol.

Investigators have not yet been able to identify the persons of interest in this case. Police are now seeking assistance from the public to identify the individuals in the attached photos.

Stolen Vehicle Recovered – 2 Arrested, Names Released #3Strikes

(COLLINGWOOD, ON) – On April 13, 2025, around 2:00 pm, members of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call regarding a motor vehicle theft from a parking lot in Collingwood, ON. The theft of a black Dodge Ram 1500 had occurred within the past hour. The vehicle was left unlocked with keys inside, and additional stolen items included a pre-paid credit card, a debit card, and the complainant’s driver’s licence.

The Collingwood OPP gathered evidence and reviewed video footage from both the theft location and a local gas station, where a transaction was made using the victim’s debit card. During the investigation, police were able to identify the suspects as a 44-year-old, Michael Churchill and a 39-year-old, Tammy Carson, both of Collingwood. 

Both individuals have since been located, arrested and were held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on April 14, 2025. The stolen vehicle has been recovered and returned it to its owner.

In addition, CHURCHILL has been charged in connection to a theft investigation that stemmed from incidents at the Living Water Resort in Collingwood. Information on that investigation was released to the media earlier this month. 

Michael Churchill has been charged with:

  • Theft Under $5000 (2 counts)
  • Possession under $5000
  • Use of Credit Card s342(1)(c)
  • Possession Break & Enter Instruments s351(1)
  • Breach of Probation Order s733.1

Tammy Carson has been charged with:

  • Theft of motor vehicle s333.1
